Shawn Webber is employed as a legal secretary with a prominent Manhattan mid-town law firm, in which she has gained basic knowledge in various legal fields, such as Litigation/Media and Entertainment, Corporate, Construction Litigation, Real Estate, Bankruptcy, Trust and Estates and Patent and Trademark. Shawn has over fifteen (15) years in the legal field. Shawn also works part-time as a Real Estate Agent and has her own on-line Travel Agency with YTB.
Shawn received her Bachelor of Science degree in Legal Studies from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, with a minor in Criminal Justice. In addition, she has obtained various certificates/licenses, including NYS Real Estate License and certificates in both Studio and Field Production from BronxNet Studios at Lehman College, which allowed her to obtain her own public access show called "The Shawn Q.T. Show" on BronxNet Television, as well as on the Manhattan Neighborhood Network Television in 2006. Shawn has also been instrumental in assisting in the production of and voiceover for "Part 1, Page 1, The Birth of Hip Hop" for the DJ Cool Clyde Show and assist in the production of public service announcements (PSA's) for United We Stand Entertainment, a non-profit organization.
As a result of her academic and professional training, Shawn has extensive experience in the corporate and public sector. Therefore, she has acquired a multiplicity of skills and talents acquiring her technical and administrative skills necessary to manage and organize a business.
As a consultant for the Founder/Executive Director for the Harlem Dance Leadership Program ("HHDLP") since 2001, Shawn handles various administrative tasks, including sending correspondence and update mailing list for upcoming events; handle VIP guests and the press/media attending shows; public relations; act as the liaison between the Founder/Executive Director and the parents; and handle the ticket coordination at various events held throughout the calendar year.
Shawn also serves on the Board of Directors as Secretary and works as the Chief Administrative Officer/Executive Director for United We Stand Entertainment since 2003. Shawn handles all business aspects of the organization. Shawn is instrumental in the aid of planning, organizing and bringing fruition the creation of the organization and public relations. She also volunteers with all event planning and the coordination of activities for the children and managing the stage with major artists at events, working with many people from television/radio air personalities, major and upcoming artists, elected officials, city agencies, hospital agencies and other non-profit organizations.
Shawn has been entrusted with the responsibility of managing and monitoring agency/company funds while serving on the Board of Trustees as Assistant Financial Secretary at her church and served as Treasurer of the Youth Choir and Usher Board in 2003 to 2005. She also served as President of the Athletic Association in high school from 1985-86, and served as a Listener Advisory Board for 107.5 WBLS in 2006.
Her professional and academic experience is an extension of her personal training and skills as a member of the Harlem Dance Leadership Program for adults, where she takes Modern, Hip-Hop Jazz and Ethnic (African) dance. In addition, Shawn has attended the Barbizon Modeling School and Three of Us Studio where she has taken modeling and acting classes in the past.
As a mother and provider of two (2) children, one a daughter who is an aspiring dancer, who is also a member of the Harlem Hospital Dance Leadership Program who has performed in several places, including South Africa, and her son an inspiring young baseball and football player, Shawn has the ability to multi-task and prioritize her duties and responsibilities between her family, work and other various tasks she may encounter.
